I made a sign that said İstanbul/Свиленград and it took me about 40 minutes to find someone (I was trying to find a truck driver). If you want you can try and hitchhike a couple kilometers south to one of the truck stops (check Google Maps as I don't know the exact locations) where you will probably find a helpful trucker. Just after the gas station there is a spot for cars to pull over.

If you are walking here, try to not get (your shoes) too dirty from the mud and sand next to the road, as there is no sidewalk.
